Surveillance Analyst

Kalshi is defining a new category

Kalshi has defined a new category: prediction markets. Kalshi allows people to trade on the outcome of any events and turn any question about the future into a financial asset. Kalshi fought for years and legalized prediction markets in the US for the first time in history, is currently the fastest growing financial market in America, and has thousands of markets across politics, economics, financials, weather, tech, AI, culture and more.

We believe prediction markets have the potential to be the largest financial market because they turn anything into a financial position.

  • Our vision: well… build the largest financial market on the planet.

  • Our mission: bring more truth to the world through the power of markets.

Our culture is simple: we hire really talented people, work really hard, and enjoy the climb. We are looking for ambitious and exceptional people to join our (relatively small) team to help us build the next generation of financial markets.

Role Roadmap

As a Surveillance Analyst, you will help maintain the integrity of Kalshi’s markets by monitoring trading activity, investigating anomalies, and supporting the evolution of our surveillance framework. You will quickly develop a strong understanding of Kalshi’s products, market structure, and regulatory environment, taking ownership of investigations and producing clear, high-quality analysis for internal and regulatory stakeholders. Over time, you will partner with engineering, compliance, and risk to improve surveillance systems and adapt controls as Kalshi’s markets and products continue to scale.

What You'll Do

  • Market Monitoring: Monitor real-time trading activity across Kalshi’s markets using surveillance tools and data analytics

  • Surveillance Strategy: Design, implement, and continuously improve surveillance approaches to detect market manipulation, insider trading, and other abusive or fraudulent behavior

  • Incident Investigation: Conduct in-depth investigations into anomalous or suspicious trading patterns, documenting findings and escalating to internal stakeholders or regulators when appropriate

  • Risk Management: Identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities in the trading environment and help develop mitigation strategies to prevent market abuse or operational disruptions

  • Technology Enhancement: Partner closely with engineering to recommend and implement improvements to surveillance systems, data pipelines, and analytical tooling

  • Reporting & Documentation: Produce clear, thorough reports on surveillance activity, trends, and investigations; maintain accurate documentation of procedures and controls

What You Bring

  • 0–3 years of experience in market surveillance, compliance, risk, or a related role in financial services.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex datasets and identify subtle patterns or anomalies.

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, including building notebooks, analyses, and data pipelines.

  • Interest in market structure, trading platforms, and financial instruments.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to confidentiality and market integrity.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with incomplete information.

Our Culture

Meritocracy is at our core, and we value people who take ownership and figure (usually hard) things out. We dream big. We love our craft deeply and are proud of what we put out in the world. We are committed to our vision of building something big… but also useful: a product that brings more truth through the power of markets.

Kalshians are Kalshi’s most important asset: we pick Kalshians carefully, so we trust them fully on day 1.

Commitment to Equal Opportunity

Kalshi is committed to creating a culture of inclusion and belonging, and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
