Strategic Vendor Management Director

This role offers a high-impact opportunity to lead strategic relationships with enterprise software vendors while aligning technology programs with business objectives. You will oversee vendor partnerships, governance frameworks, and joint planning activities, ensuring maximum value is realized from technology investments. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including IT, finance, and business operations—you will drive innovation, operational efficiency, and growth through vendor programs. This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on management of vendor workstreams, financial tracking, and performance measurement, providing the chance to influence both internal processes and external vendor roadmaps. Ideal for leaders who excel at collaboration, negotiation, and driving business outcomes through technology partnerships.


Accountabilities:
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for key enterprise software vendors, building long-term partnerships.
  • Develop, implement, and scale a vendor partnership model aligned with business objectives and digital initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business units and Strategic Services teams to deliver operational efficiencies, innovation, and talent upskilling.
  • Lead joint planning activities with vendors to influence product roadmaps, service offerings, and support models.
  • Establish governance frameworks for tracking vendor performance, activities, and business value.
  • Align vendor enterprise program benefits (training, support, marketing, innovation) with operational needs.
  • Proactively manage innovation workstreams with vendors to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Track financial spend, license allocation, and utilization for corporate and project delivery teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for conflict resolution and partner with IT procurement on contract renewals and negotiations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software vendor management, enterprise licensing, or IT.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technology vendor programs to achieve strategic business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple technology workstreams and deliver results on schedule.
  • Strong understanding of vendor enterprise programs, tools, and support models.
  • Knowledge of the AEC industry, key vendors, and associated use cases is highly desirable.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certifications from vendor programs are a plus.
