This role offers the opportunity to lead and shape the civil engineering design of large-scale renewable energy projects from concept through construction. The Senior Civil Engineer will take ownership of project deliverables, including grading, stormwater management, and site layout, while providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers. Working in a collaborative, innovative environment, you will solve complex engineering challenges, partner with project managers and clients, and contribute to the continuous improvement of design tools and workflows. The position requires both autonomy and teamwork, balancing strategic decision-making with hands-on technical execution. Your work will directly impact the success, quality, and sustainability of major renewable energy initiatives.
· Lead civil design for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, and site layout.
· Anticipate, identify, and resolve technical challenges to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
· Prepare, review, and ensure compliance of engineering reports, calculations, and designs with regulatory standards.
· Collaborate with project managers and clients to align designs with project goals and evolving requirements.
· Support construction activities by responding to RFIs, providing technical guidance, and ensuring design integrity.
· Mentor junior engineers, conduct workshops, and share expertise in Civil 3D and site engineering practices.
· Drive continuous improvement in workflows, design tools, and best practices for civil engineering teams.
· Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil Engineering.
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
· 10+ years of experience in civil/site design, grading, and stormwater management.
· Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD).
· Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, report writing, and client communication.
· Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience, with ability to guide teams through complex engineering challenges.
