Join a fast-scaling tech company transforming the sports and entertainment space through data. In this role, you’ll play a central part in designing, building, and maintaining the data models and transformation pipelines that drive decisions across all business units. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the quality, accessibility, and performance of analytics-ready data, and you'll be a key voice in shaping data governance and best practices. This position blends deep technical ownership with strategic influence and mentorship opportunities, all within a dynamic and inclusive remote-first environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Build and optimize robust data pipelines and transformation workflows, ensuring data accessibility, consistency, and quality for analytics use cases.
  • Partner with BI and engineering teams to design and implement dbt models and reusable logic that power dashboards and business reporting.
  • Define and maintain data quality checks and validation processes to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of analytics outputs.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment of data solutions, following best practices for testing, version control, and automation.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation around data models, transformation logic, and key business metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data models and actionable insights.
  • Champion data governance practices such as data lineage and cataloging to improve data discoverability and trust.
  • Mentor junior engineers and act as a thought leader within the analytics engineering function, staying ahead of emerging technologies and methodologies.
  • Participate in the on-call support rotation shared across the analytics and data engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar role focused on building end-to-end data pipelines.
  • 1+ years of experience as a technical lead, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior engineers.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics).
  • Strong proficiency with dbt, SQL, and data modeling concepts including dimensional modeling and data warehousing principles.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Postgres, and cloud storage solutions.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with Git, CI/CD practices, and orchestration tools like Airflow or Argo Workflows.
  • Familiarity with ELT/ETL tools (e.g., Dataform, Hevo, Segment) and customer data platforms.
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) and a proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, including data lineage, quality standards, and documentation best practices.
  • Bonus: background in the fantasy sports or gaming industry, or experience working in a high-volume, analytics-focused environment.

  • Salary range: $90,000 to $190,000, depending on location, experience, and level.
