Principal Data Engineer, Attack Surface Intelligence

This role is ideal for a seasoned data engineer passionate about building and scaling complex, distributed systems that provide actionable intelligence to customers. You will take ownership of critical data pipelines responsible for ingesting and distributing intelligence signals, working closely with product management and engineering teams to align technical strategies with business goals. The position requires expertise in designing scalable APIs, microservices, and distributed systems, along with a strong focus on operational excellence, observability, and mentoring other engineers. You will contribute to long-term platform strategy while ensuring systems are reliable, performant, and insightful.

Accountabilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend services and APIs using Python.
• Architect and evolve microservice-based systems for scalability, resilience, and high performance.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to align technical work with business objectives.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data integration issues within pipelines and distributed systems.
• Drive observability, monitoring, and operational excellence across services.
• Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and best practices.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and long-term platform strategy while coordinating with internal stakeholders across teams.

• Proven experience designing and maintaining scalable APIs and microservices in Python, with familiarity in tools such as Kafka, Clickhouse, and Elasticsearch.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to explore data, validate assumptions, and optimize system behavior.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across geographically distributed teams.
• Demonstrated track record of independently driving complex projects and contributing to coding and design standards within a team.
