This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer in the United States.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the design, implementation, and management of a modern, secure, and scalable DevSecOps platform supporting Modeling and Simulation (M&S) systems. The Lead DevOps Engineer will play a pivotal role in enabling cloud and on-premises environments for Joint and Air Force training, ensuring platform reliability, automation, and cybersecurity compliance. The position requires collaboration across development, security, and operations teams to drive modernization, operational readiness, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud platforms, combined with a strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks.

Accountabilities

As Lead DevOps Engineer, you will:

  • Architect, implement, and configure a secure, scalable M&S DevSecOps platform supporting cloud and on-premises deployments.
  • Design and maintain infrastructure solutions using automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines integrated with security tools (e.g., GitLab, SonarQube, Fortify) to ensure efficient software delivery.
  • Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring high availability, orchestration, and scalability.
  • Ensure platform compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards, RMF, and NIST 800-53 frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system modernization, transition engineering, and sustainment efforts.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to maintain operational readiness and optimize platform performance.

Candidates should have:

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 7 years in DevSecOps roles across multiple projects.
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages such as C++ and Python.
  • Proven expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Security+ CE or Linux+ certification (required).
  • Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity compliance frameworks, including RMF and NIST 800-53.
  • Proficiency in containerization and cloud-native architectures.
