Lead Database Engineer (Remote - US)

In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of database systems that manage both structured and unstructured data at scale. You will work across distributed cloud architectures and local databases, building solutions that ensure data integrity, availability, and performance. This position requires strong technical expertise in data engineering, including AI, machine learning, and big-data tools, to automate data processing and maintain high-quality information. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions and set architectural standards for data storage, flows, and security. This is a hands-on role with significant impact on the organization’s ability to leverage data effectively for analytics and decision-making.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain database systems that support large-scale data processing and storage.
• Establish architecture and processes for ingesting, routing, and storing data from multiple sources.
• Implement automated solutions for cleansing, transforming, and validating data using AI and machine learning techniques.
• Define and enforce standards for data integrity, security, and system operability.
• Collaborate with business and product teams to assess data requirements and recommend system improvements.
• Oversee deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning of database solutions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers on data architecture and best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Extensive experience in database design, development, and administration across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Hands-on experience with AI, machine learning, or big-data frameworks to manage and transform data.
• Strong programming skills for database automation, ETL processes, and system integration.
• Expertise in ensuring data integrity, security, and high availability.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multiple teams, translate business needs into technical solutions, and establish architectural standards.
• Preferred: experience with distributed/cloud architectures, modern storage systems, and advanced analytics pipelines.

• Competitive base salary range: $130,800 – $186,300, based on experience, expertise, and location.
