Engineering Manager, SDET (Remote - US)

This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead and scale a team of software development engineers in test (SDETs) responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards across complex products. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, mentoring a distributed, remote-first team while guiding the strategy for end-to-end testing, real-world scenario simulations, and quality metrics. The position requires collaboration with product and engineering teams to align testing initiatives with customer outcomes, while driving process improvements, operational excellence, and technical innovation. This role is ideal for leaders who enjoy fostering talent, maintaining technical engagement, and delivering robust, scalable, and high-performing systems.

Accountabilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a remote, cross-functional team of SDETs across multiple products.
• Establish and implement testing best practices, including real-world scenario and end-to-end test frameworks.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and execution of testing projects, from concept to delivery.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to prioritize and execute quality-focused roadmaps.
• Foster a customer-first mindset, ensuring testing initiatives align with both internal and external user satisfaction.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing strategy, metrics, and operational excellence across distributed systems.

• 10+ years of industry experience, including 4+ years in technical leadership or management.
• Demonstrated experience leading distributed, high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced, agile environments.
• Hands-on experience in testing strategy development, quality metrics, and automation for SaaS and customer-managed products.
• Strong knowledge of high-performance, scalable distributed systems and ability to analyze, scope, and prioritize technical requirements.
• Proven experience in hiring, training, and mentoring SDETs to achieve team goals.
• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

• Competitive salary: $215,000 – $260,000, dependent on location and experience.
