Data Integration Business Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Data Integration Business Analyst to manage and optimize data exchange and integration initiatives across enterprise systems. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, data engineers, and external partners to translate business requirements into integration specifications and test plans. The analyst will ensure data quality, interoperability, and regulatory compliance while supporting ETL, API, and file-based interfaces. Ideal candidates excel in problem-solving, data analysis, and communication, and thrive in a remote work environment. • Accountabilities:
• Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for data integration initiatives.
• Develop source-to-target mappings, interface control documents, and transformation rules.
• Perform data profiling, gap analysis, and validate data quality across systems and external partners.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications for ETL, API, and secure file transfers.
• Create test plans, test cases, and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders.
• Support implementation, monitoring, and reconciliation of production data, and document lessons learned.
• Maintain interface inventories, data dictionaries, and technical documentation; contribute to data governance.
• Recommend process improvements, reusable templates, and automation strategies to optimize integration workflows.
• Requirements:
• Associate’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field; with 4–7 years of experience in data integration, ETL, or data engineering depending on education level.
• Hands-on experience producing source-to-target mappings and interface specifications.
• Proficiency with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., SSIS), APIs (REST/JSON), and secure file transfer methods (SFTP/MFT).
• Experience validating healthcare or payer/provider data sets and applying HIPAA compliance standards.
• Strong SQL skills for data profiling, validation, and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with healthcare data formats (HL7 v2/FHIR, X12/EDI 837/835, NCPDP, CMS-1500/UB-04).
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Preferred: experience with API management, CI/CD practices, Git/TFS/DevOps, and coordinating production cutovers.
