Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building the core systems that power high-performance, data-driven applications. You will design and deploy internal APIs, develop scalable microservices, and ensure seamless data flow across complex platforms. This position offers the opportunity to work on greenfield projects, architecting resilient and efficient backend systems that directly impact product performance and user experience. Collaborating closely with product owners, data scientists, and fellow engineers, you will turn challenging technical problems into elegant, scalable solutions. • Accountabilities
• Develop and maintain robust, scalable microservices and backend APIs to support high-volume data needs.
• Build internal workflows and systems that enable seamless communication across services.
• Own greenfield projects, from architecture through implementation, ensuring performance, resilience, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging tools to maintain system reliability and performance.
• Lead technical initiatives, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to elevate engineering standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in backend architecture and processes.

• Requirements
• 3+ years of experience building microservices-heavy backend systems and APIs in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Advanced proficiency in Go, with strong experience in designing and scaling enterprise-level APIs.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CDK).
• Proven ability to deliver results in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate and influence across teams.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Interest in sports or prior experience in sports betting environments.
