AI Research Engineer (Remote - US)

As an AI Research Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the development of cutting-edge AI models applied to drug discovery and therapeutics. You will collaborate closely with AI scientists, engineers, and domain experts to design, implement, and deploy innovative models that accelerate the identification of novel therapies. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, biology, and healthcare, contributing to transformative solutions with global impact. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, research-driven environment, with a focus on solving complex problems and delivering production-ready AI solutions. The position supports both remote work and on-site collaboration, providing exposure to diverse technical challenges and opportunities for professional growth.

Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and deploy AI and machine learning models for applications in drug discovery and therapeutic development.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including AI scientists, engineers, and life science experts to translate scientific questions into computational solutions.
  • Conduct research on advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques, applying them to real-world biomedical datasets.
  • Optimize model performance and scalability, ensuring robust, reproducible, and production-ready solutions.
  • Analyze complex data, evaluate alternative approaches, and provide actionable recommendations based on findings.
  • Communicate research results and technical insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to publications and presentations at top AI and machine learning conferences to share findings and innovations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in AI, machine learning, or related fields, with proven success in production deployment of models.
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python, with experience using relevant AI frameworks and libraries.
  • Solid understanding of deep learning fundamentals, neural network architectures, optimization techniques, and evaluation metrics.
  • Familiarity with drug discovery, computational biology, or bioinformatics is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a passion for tackling complex healthcare challenges.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills for working in fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working cross-functionally, evaluating alternative solutions, and navigating trade-offs.
  • Publication record in reputable AI/ML conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) is a plus.
