GENERAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sourcing Specialist will support commodity strategies and solutions that deliver value and cost benefits. This role reports to the Souring Department to secure continuous supply of quality specific materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Will include the following, other duties may be assigned
Assists in the supplier selection process per sourcing strategies
Gathers data to send out RFQs to supply base
Record quote data to track supplier performance
Works with assigned commodity group, planning, organizing task and projects
Process item price requests from sales teams as needed by obtaining new and updated quotes from suppliers
Work with large data sets and apply data integrity criteria both with accuracy and timely execution
Must be capable of prioritizing workload and handle multiple projects at one time
Maintain MRP by updating various supplier and purchase item elements
Develop, review, analyze, and interpret various reports. Attention to detail required
Ability to understand and evaluate specific commodities in a global procurement market
Must have ability to gain technical understanding of assigned commodities
Resolve pricing conflicts and place bids with different suppliers as required
Solid mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills required
Manage item reactivation requests
Other duties as required and assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Purchasing experience in an automated MRP environment, preferably using Infor LN.
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel (required)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid mathematical, verbal and written communication skills required
Ability to read engineering blueprints or various relevant technical documents
Ability to develop productive working relationship with internal customers
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Degree in Business Administration or Technical associate's degree preferred
Minimum educational requirement – High School Diploma (GED) with 3 plus years purchasing experience
