As a team member of BMO Asset Management Corp on the CLO Issuer desk, you will be a key member of the Securitized Products team, responsible for managing the origination, structuring, and execution of Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) transactions. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to bring complex structured credit deals to market, ensuring high-quality execution and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of new-issue middle market CLOs, resets, and refinancing.
  • Coordinate transaction workstreams involving BMO Sponsor Finance deal teams along with internal legal, compliance, risk, and operations.  Also extensive involvement external parties (rating agencies, trustees, arrangers, and legal counsel).
  • Oversee structuring and cash flow modeling using Intex and internal proprietary tools; ensure accuracy of capital structure, waterfall mechanics, and covenant packages.  (Intex experience preferred but not required)
  • Draft and review offering materials including OM, marketing decks, and roadshow presentations.
  • Interface with new and existing institutional investors to align deal parameters with market demand.
  • Monitor regulatory developments (e.g., US/European risk retention, SEC rulemaking, Volcker Rule) and ensure all transactions comply with applicable laws and bank policies.
  • Actively contribute to CLO strategy, business development, and product innovation across the platform.
  • Supervise and mentor analysts and associates to ensure strong execution and continuous development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree considered.
  • 6–10 years of relevant experience in CLO issuance, structured finance, or securitized products at a bank, rating agency, or asset manager.
  • Proven transaction execution experience in CLO markets, including modeling, structuring, and investor engagement.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, and PowerPoint.  Intex experience preferred but not required. 
  • Familiarity with legal documentation (indentures, collateral management agreements, offering memoranda).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong project management capabilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment

Preferred Attributes:

  • Deep understanding of CLO manager platforms and investor bases.
  • Existing relationships with institutional investors and buy-side CLO participants.
  • Experience managing large-scale internal deal approval processes at a global financial institution.

Salary:

$120,000.00 - $222,600.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
