Credit Risk Data Scientist

99x Brazil is in search of a dedicated Credit Risk Data Analyst to enhance our team and drive risk management strategies within our clients. In this role, you will analyze risk factors, assess their impact on their business, and recommend strategies to mitigate identified risks. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining compliance, optimizing processes, and ensuring that potential threats are managed effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed portfolio analysis using advanced statistical techniques to identify trends, concentrations of risk, and emerging risk factors incorporating traditional data (credit bureau information, application data, financial statements) and alternative data sources
  • Review risk-based pricing models that align loan pricing with underlying credit risk while maintaining competitive positioning
  • Collaborate with product and underwriting teams to develop and optimize credit policies based on data-driven insights
  • Monitor loan performance against expected outcomes, identifying deviations and recommending policy/model adjustments
  • Generate risk reports
  • Develop automated dashboards and visualization tools to enhance monitoring efficiency and risk communication
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation of all models, methodologies, and assumptions to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Research and implement innovative analytical techniques to improve predictive accuracy of risk models
  • Perform vintage and cohort analysis to evaluate performance of different loan populations over time
  • Identify early warning indicators for credit deterioration and develop proactive mitigation strategies
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging analytical methodologies in consumer credit risk

  • BSc or higher in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in risk analysis, compliance, or a related financial role.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data interpretation and statistical methods.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, with strong data manipulation and analysis expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced English proficiency for communication with international teams.
