About the opportunity:
Are you an ambitious, newly graduated law student looking to accelerate your career in-house at a high growth startup? As a Legal Researcher at Jerry.ai, you’ll be embedded in the business from day one, working closely with our General Counsel (ex-Skadden), and collaborating directly with our executive leadership team.
This is not a traditional law firm path. You’ll gain firsthand exposure to the legal and business challenges that shape a rapidly scaling tech company, while being pushed to take ownership early in a steep learning environment.

This is a fully remote full-time role with options to work onsite (we have offices in Palo Alto, Toronto, and New York).
What you’ll do:
Research legal requirements, and manage licensing and compliance required for various product offerings based on federal and state laws
Research local laws and regulations in China
Conduct thorough contract reviews, ensure we maintain compliance with various laws and regulations including state insurance, finance and data privacy laws
Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with partners and vendors
Assist in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Jerry’s legal and compliance policies and procedures to effectively manage legal and business risks
Ideal profile:
Strong academic background in law, whether through a Bachelor’s degree, JD, LLM, or PhD in a legal field
Fluency in both Mandarin and English (written and spoken)
Strong ability to quickly synthesize and apply new information
Impeccable attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
A strong sense of ownership and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed on this job posting, determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future. In addition to base salary, the compensation may include opportunities for equity grants.
