Role Overview:
We're seeking a strategic and visionary Principal UX Designer to join our UX team. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping transformative experiences across Insulet’s global digital ecosystem. This role blends creative leadership, technical depth, and user obsession to craft intuitive, elegant solutions that serve patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Drive UX strategy and define vision aligned with business and customer priorities
- Influence product direction with data-driven insights and strategic clarity
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, UX teams
- Present UX rationale with impact to executive leaders and stakeholders
- Champion user advocacy and quality throughout the product lifecycle
- Mentor junior designers and foster a growth-oriented team culture
- Cultivate alignment by guiding teams through planning and delivery cycles
- Elevate UX maturity across the organization through thought leadership and design excellence
- Lead cross-functional design sprints/workshops to gain alignment and evangelize UX
Technical Responsibilities:
- Oversee UX inputs for one of our major product franchises
- Architect seamless, scalable experiences that anticipate user needs and solve real problems
- Design and iterate using research, Human Factors, and user feedback
- Apply mastery in modern UX tools, rapid prototyping, and testing workflows
- Ensure platform consistency and system-wide UX integrity across products
- Contribute to and evolve design systems used across global teams
- Craft compiling user narratives, through user journey maps, service design inputs, attitudinal insights, etc
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Graphic Design, HCI, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- Deep expertise in design tools such as Figma, Framer, Sketch, FigJam, Adobe Creative Cloud, JIRA, Confluence, Miro
- 10+ years in mobile app and consumer experience design
- 5+ years of experience in Agile product development environments
- Proven track record of leading strategic design initiatives with global impact
- Deep fluency in UX design principles, and digital eco-systems
- Expertise in prototyping, design systems, user research, and accessibility standards
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and collaboration skills
- Ability to influence cross-functional partners and executive stakeholders
Additional Information:
- NOTE: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements (requires on-site work from our Acton office at least 3x/week; may work remotely other days). #LI-Hybrid

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $167,550.00 - $251,325.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
