Bad company if you are ambitious and want to have meaning in your life
Pros
- Salary and benefits are good (but come with a price of a bad job) - Occasionally you meet some nice people who are not here for the money or benefits and actually want to contribute. But even those, you will soon see them going..Cons
- There are layers upon layers or useless management whose only purpose is to delay meaningful progress. And the selection process for them is not based on merit but on criteria irrelevant to skills and contribution - Some things that other banks do in months, for ING it takes years - If you are ambitious (especially young!) stay clear of ING (unless you love bureaucracy, processes and politics) - Reorganization after reorganization without anyone ever understanding why so many and frequent changes - Like in many organizations, your wellbeing here depends 70% on your manager and 30% on your work. As said above, ING promotes managers not based on merit but connections and visibility. In my case i had a wonderful manager and person who left and I was assigned to one who has no clue about the work i do and does not care to understand. This makes my life in the company way harder than it has to be and because their line of reporting is the same, i don't know who can I talk to..
