The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $70,992 to $88,740.
Job Summary
Administers, and monitors departmental standards, procedures, and performance to minimize risk and ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standards and other legal requirements for Avangrid Networks Registered Entities. Works with responsible business area Subject Matter Experts and management to provide specialized technical expertise and support for compliance program development and compliance performance tracking and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Review of New Standards and Guidance – there is ongoing review and update of the NERC Reliability Standards as well as issuance of guidance documents. Any changed and/or updates need to be communicated to responsible business area Subject Matter Experts. The Compliance Specialist will work with a program/project manager to coordinate the tracking of changes to standards and work with responsible business areas to ensure compliance requirements are met.
Audit Preparation – The companies are subject to regular audits for compliance with NERC Standards. The Compliance Specialist will be expected to support the preparation of audit documents prior to external audits and to participate in regular internal audits of individual standards to support company compliance.
Document Management – The NERC Reliability Assurance program includes almost 100 policies, procedures, and forms for each company that need to be reviewed and updated on an annual basis. A document trail must be kept demonstrating compliance with each standard. The Compliance Specialist will participate in the review and updates of policies and procedures in conjunction with Subject Matter Experts.
Compliance Investigations – Work with responsible business areas to investigation potential non-compliance issues, including determining root cause and mitigation to correct the issue and to help prevent recurrence.
Administrative Filings – The companies are required to submit certain periodic or on demand filings to NERC and NPCC, such as quarterly miss-operations reports, quarterly vegetation management reports, potential non-compliance self-reports, etc. The Compliance Specialist may be tasked with collecting data and submitting these periodic and on demand filings.

Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree with program of study related to compliance, electric operations, auditing, IT/OT and/or engineering OR an Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years in compliance, operations, auditing, IT/OT, engineering and/or other relevant experience.
Skills/Abilities:
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to understand and analyze FERC/NERC/NPCC regulatory requirements.
Able to work independently under the direction of a manager, program manager or project manager.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work under tight deadlines with changing priorities.
Proficient with PC skills and programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
