Our preference for this hire is to be based out of our New York City headquarters on a hybrid model. However, we will consider strong candidates on a remote arrangement, who are able to support EST operating hours with occasional travel to our NYC headquarters.
HUMAN is looking for a Research Analyst to join our Research team—the people behind the threat intelligence and detection that protect the internet’s most trusted platforms. In this role, you’ll work directly with some of our largest customers, surfacing insights that strengthen both their defenses and our products. You’ll investigate massive datasets, uncover new attack patterns, and help accelerate detection from “seen in the wild” to “mitigated in HUMAN.” If you love solving complex problems at scale and presenting your findings in a way that actually resonates, this role is for you.
Lead research initiatives for 1–3 of our largest customer accounts, delivering specialized insight reports into threats and data quality
Identify top customer concerns and recurring issues, then feed them back to improve our product systematically
Serve as the Research/Detection team representative in business reviews and customer calls, presenting complex analysis clearly to non-technical audiences
Collaborate with Customer Success Engineering to deliver new customer-facing features
Spot impactful detection leads and help drive faster mitigation of emerging threats in HUMAN products
Develop stop-gap defenses for novel threats through analyses, models, algorithms, and dashboards
Build complex queries and reports (sub-queries, temp tables, complex joins, variables) to analyze historical data
Improve existing techniques and tooling to reduce time-to-detection and increase operational efficiency
Document models, algorithms, and analyses to ensure visibility, transparency, and auditability of work
You have a good sense of ownership which drives you to find ways to do things better, faster, and leaner; you hold yourself accountable for the quality and accuracy of your work
You excel at presenting complex data in a clear and engaging manner for non-technical audiences
You are enthusiastic about providing exceptional customer support and have direct experience working with strategic clients
You look to find new and innovative ways to tackle complex problems through meticulous experimentation and application of emerging technologies
You are open and transparent and work in tight collaboration with other team members on data projects and cross-departmentally
Proficiency in SQL
Python experience or exposure, such as usage of Jupyter notebooks, strongly preferred
AdTech experience or exposure preferred, such as knowledge of the ORTB programmatic ecosystem and protocols, knowledge of DSP vs. SSP relationships, and the basics of how ads are served
Experience working with multi TB to PB data sets in cloud databases preferred
