At Neon One, we believe that technology is the key to building vibrant communities of generosity. As a leader in nonprofit software since 2004, we create intuitive solutions that help small and mid-sized nonprofits connect with people, build trust, and make good happen every day.
Our culture is powered by empathy, innovation, and a shared mission to empower organizations making a difference. We operate with a customer-first mindset, take pride in extraordinary results, and grow together by supporting each other and embracing bold new ideas. If you’re passionate about using your skills to drive real impact and want to thrive in a collaborative, fully remote environment, Neon One is the place for you.
Neon One is looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer ready to make a big impact. This is a unique opportunity to help reimagine and unify the product experience across our SaaS platform—shaping how nonprofits, donors, and volunteers engage with technology that powers social good. You’ll bring strong user-centered strategy to complex problems, designing thoughtful, scalable, and accessible solutions across products and teams. If you’re excited by end-to-end design, systems thinking, UXR, cross-functional collaboration, and using tools like Figma, Pendo, and AI to work smarter, this role offers the chance to influence design at scale and leave your mark on something that truly matters.
Design world-class end-to-end experiences with a strong sense of ownership—balancing craft, user needs, and business goals.
Proactively solve user problems end-to-end by navigating ambiguity, identifying risks, and driving strategic solutions.
Maintain and evolve Neon One’s design system to ensure consistency across products through scalable components, patterns, and documentation.
Facilitate design workshops that align teams and support divergent and convergent thinking.
Plan and conduct user research and usability testing, synthesize insights, and share clear, actionable recommendations with cross-functional teams.
Use product data and metrics alongside user research to measure and optimize design impact.
Partner deeply with product managers, product owners, engineers, and stakeholders from discovery through delivery.
Skilled at engaging stakeholders early, earning buy-in, and rallying others around shared product innovation.
Help shape product strategy and roadmap by contributing design insight in the early, ambiguous planning stages.
Conduct design QA during development to ensure the final product aligns with design intent.
Use AI tools like Figma AI and Gemini to move faster through exploration, prototyping, and storytelling—helping you design smarter without sacrificing creativity or quality.
Create high-quality design deliverables at the right fidelity, knowing when to be scrappy or polished based on urgency and impact.
Create flows, wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes; iterate based on research and feedback.
Design intuitive, accessible, and responsive user interfaces across web and mobile experiences.
Apply strong visual, interaction, and motion design principles to deliver elegant, user-centered experiences.
Ensure designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA) across all designs and experiences.
Translate design rationale clearly to diverse stakeholders, fostering alignment across product, engineering, and business teams.
Mentor and coach designers and stakeholders on craft, process, and collaboration, acting as a design expert and cultural leader.
Lead and participate in design critiques, and foster a strong, feedback-driven design culture.
Contribute to design ops improvements to enhance team efficiency and ensure consistent application of design standards.
Shape Neon One design culture and advocate for user-first decision making.
Stay current with design trends, tools, accessibility standards, AI, and the evolving SaaS landscape.
Experience designing complex, end-to-end user experiences, ideally for SaaS or web-based applications.
Portfolio demonstrating product design, interaction design, responsive layouts, and accessible UI across web and mobile.
Proficient in Figma for design systems, prototyping, and collaboration.
Strong foundational design skills, especially in hierarchy, typography, information architecture, and data visualization.
Familiar with WCAG and ADA accessibility design standards and how to apply them.
Experience planning and conducting user research (moderated/unmoderated), synthesizing insights, and presenting findings.
Understand front-end technologies well enough to design feasible solutions and collaborate effectively with engineers (no coding required).
Self-directed, adaptable, and effective in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across time zones (Central Time standard).
Thrives in a culture of autonomy, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and a passion for contributing to the mission of empowering small to mid-sized nonprofits.
Experience with product analytics or experience platforms like Pendo.
Familiarity with user testing tools such as Helio, Maze, or UserTesting.
Experience with Agile/Scrum workflows or participating in design sprints.
