Jersey Shore University Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced physician to join our team as a Physician Advisor. This vital role offers a unique opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with leadership skills to optimize patient care and resource utilization within our dynamic healthcare environment. As a key member of the leadership team, you will collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and Care Management Department to ensure efficient and effective healthcare delivery.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Unrestricted medical license in the State of New Jersey.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Proven ability to drive results and produce outcomes.
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP) preferred.
  • Membership in the American College of Physician Advisors (ACPA) encouraged.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the Care Management team to optimize resource utilization and patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with payer regulations and medical necessity criteria (e.g., MCG, InterQual).
  • Conduct utilization reviews and manage denials/appeals.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to promote appropriate utilization of hospital services.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and utilization committees.
  • Educate medical staff on utilization guidelines and documentation best practices.

Starting Minimum Rate

Starting at $216,675 Annually

Education and Certifications: Degrees attained, residencies, fellowships, board certifications, research, and publications. Productivity: Levels of productivity, quality and patient satisfaction. Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in relevant skills and competencies. Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location. Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the specialty and/or sub-specialty. Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered. In addition to our compensation for full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits. The final compensation and benefits package will be discussed during the interview process.
