Skills
- 11+ years building and operating production software at scale.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages and production service delivery (primary focus on Python/Django).
- Frontend proficiency with TypeScript and React for customer-facing experiences.
- Deep experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching/queue systems (Redis).
- API design expertise (GraphQL and/or REST) and schema/performance optimization.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Ecommerce and Shopify ecosystem experience highly preferred.
- Strong architectural judgment and product-focused ownership.
Responsibilities
- Design and extend core services and user-facing experiences (OMS, catalog, pricing/promotions, subscriptions, checkout, fulfillment).
- Drive architectural decisions across a hybrid Shopify + custom eCommerce platform and ensure scalable, maintainable systems.
- Partner with Product, Operations, Analytics, Merchandising, and Marketing to translate vision into technical execution.
- Write, review, and guide code across the stack and champion best practices in testing, documentation, and observability.
- Mentor and coach engineers to raise the team’s technical craftsmanship and delivery quality.
- Operate and improve production services with attention to performance, security, and reliability.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced degree preferred but not required; equivalent professional experience accepted.
