Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Warren, MI, three times per week, at minimum or at other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role
Program Management teams ensure execution of programs by managing a portfolio of projects for on-time, on-target launch and lifecycle improvement. Program Team leaders see the whole picture of the program from initial program approval, design and engineering development through go-to-market launch, lifecycle, and end of production. We coordinate the program teams from across global General Motors’ functional areas to ensure success.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
Plan, lead, develop and analyze information necessary to support program leadership decisions regarding the product and business. A great APM balances navigating ambiguity along with a checklist mentality regarding process and execution. A high level of independent judgment and considerable creativity is necessary to solve unique execution and business opportunities. Making the complex simple is a top skill of APMs. Likewise, detailed documenting and communicating of program decisions regarding product content and strategies enables quickness, clarity, and efficiency across product development. APMs also develop and maintain policies and procedures related to Global Program Management and the Product Execution Teams.
Coordinate Program Execution Team (PET) agenda, facilitate meetings, and document decisions
Lead Change Request/Decision Notice (CR/DN) process including screening team meeting
Support presentation preparation, including senior leadership gate reviews (VPE, GPLE, others)
Assist development of business case for program content changes
Manage Product Program Content (PPC), Program Content Authoring Tool (PCAT) and Program Notebook
Coordinate content with Vehicle Description System (VDS) and Program Content Authoring Tool (PCAT)
Monitor Program Readiness with Vehicle Planning Coordinator
Advise other functions supporting the Product Execution Teams
Ensure internal / external customer voices are understood by the PET
Handle a variety of non-recurring special assignments
Support and backup Program Manager responsibilities

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or other relevant degree related to the role
5+ yrs experience in Vehicle Development, Planning, Engineering Operations, Program Management, Design or relevant work experience
Passion for developing customer-focused and business-relevant product solutions
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively from peer level to ECEs
Past proof demonstrating leadership and initiative skills, chipping-in, seeing what’s ahead
Well-developed oral and written communication skills in small and large group settings
Peer-validated ability to keep large teams positively focused on results
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
Demonstrated ability to take vague assignments to completion
Ability to maintain effectiveness in fast-paced, changing environment, with many constraints
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
