We are seeking a Planner, Preventative Maintenance to support N3B in a direct role! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.
The Maintenance Planner develops work packages for Corrective and Preventive Maintenance in accordance with Integrated Safety Management System principles. The Planner will interface with all stakeholders and ensure that appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) participate in the planning process. The planning process includes the following: Define the Scope of Work, identify the hazards by performing a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), incorporate required controls into the work instructions, and route the work package to appropriate SMEs for approval. In addition, the planner will be responsible for documenting special tools, equipment and materials required for the safe execution of the work package and will assist in the Work Request screening process.
Responsibilities
Develop technical work instructions for Corrective and Preventive Maintenance in accordance with Integrated Safety Management System principles.
Interface with Work Task requestor to fully define the scope of work.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the Integrated Work Control Process.
Interface with other Subject Matter Experts to facilitate Scoping and Hazard Analysis (JHA) walkdowns.
Engage appropriate SMEs to identify appropriate Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures, as necessary.
Involve required SMEs during work package review/approval and incorporate feedback throughout the process.
Own the work package from initiation to close out, including records disposition.
Execute the Change Control Process when conditions require a revision of the work instructions.
Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software to statues and track work package during the planning process.
Participate in Schedule Meetings to provide work package status updates and ensure alignment with site priorities.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed
Knowledge of and experience with facility maintenance planning including systems engineering design and maintenance, safety/authorization basis, configuration management programs, work control, facility control systems, major construction projects, and upgrades and renovations.
Expertise in conducting research, investigating and identifying alternative solutions to solve complex problems affecting facility maintenance and administration.
Full understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration
Knowledge of Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS) implementation, and OSHA requirements for safe work performance.
Able to perform duties and tasks that are varied and complex.
Able to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of problems and issues.
Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
Able to develop approaches for new or improved processes.
Ability to work with broad objectives, with latitude to determine the best way to accomplish tasks.
Able to lead certain aspects of a task or project.
Must be able to complete and maintain all training and qualifications required for the position.
Experience in using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software is preferred.
Prior US Department of Energy Nuclear experience is preferred.

N3B manages the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract for the U.S. Department of Energy Environmental Management’s Los Alamos Field Office, which is responsible for cleaning up contamination that resulted from LANL operations before 1999 and packaging and shipping radioactive and hazardous waste off-site for permanent disposal (n3b-la.com).
