GEICO Tech is looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our Claims- Partnerships Platform team. This team is responsible for designing and building the next generation of infrastructure, tools, and APIs that enable 3rd party partners to integrate seamlessly with GEICO's ecosystem. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Partnerships, and engineering domain teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable systems that empower external developers and businesses to create impactful integrations.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • - Develop and maintain full-stack platform services, scalable APIs, responsive front-end interfaces, SDKs, and developer tools that support 3rd party integrations. 

  • Collaborate with product managers, technical program managers, and engineers to implement platform features. 

  • Ensure platform solutions meet security, privacy, and compliance standards. 

  • Contribute to end-to-end solutions, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment. 

  • Assist in improving system reliability, scalability, and performance through thoughtful coding and testing. 

  • Participate in code reviews and team knowledge sharing to maintain quality standards. 

  • Identify potential risks, gaps, and opportunities to enhance platform stability and performance. 

  • Work within Agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) to deliver incremental improvements. 

  • Support production systems and troubleshooting as needed, including monitoring and logging tools. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience, including Java (J2EE, Spring Boot) and front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue). 

  • Hands-on experience building full stack, distributed, and scalable systems with micro-services or SOA architecture. 

  • Knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, or gRPC integrations. 

  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases. 

  • Exposure to cloud platforms, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and basic system design principles. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience contributing to platforms or tools for external developers or 3rd party integrations. 

  • Familiarity with API best practices and authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth, SAML SSO). 

  • Experience with Azure or other cloud networking, container orchestration, and monitoring tools. 

  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Annual Salary

$80,000.00 - $160,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
