Position Summary
GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer to join our team and drive our insurance business transformation as we shift from a traditional IT model to a cutting-edge tech organization. Position Description
As a key member of our engineering staff, the Engineer II plays a critical role in delivering a seamless and high-quality experience to our customers, while ensuring the highest standards of protection and availability across the organization. Thriving in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment where priorities shift rapidly, this individual must possess a broad and deep technical expertise, spanning front-end UIs, back-end systems, and all points in between, to drive the development of innovative technology products and services that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Position Responsibilities
As an Engineer II, you will perform the following set of essential functions:
Under general supervision, DESIGNS and BUILDS high performance, low latency platforms and applications across Business Services, Data, Platform, and Infrastructure Engineering. SCOPES, DESIGNS, and BUILDS scalable and resilient distributed systems. ENGAGES in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle. PARTICIPATES with peers in design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization. UTILIZES programming languages (GO, Python, Java, SQL), cloud datawarehousing platforms (Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery), relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.) NoSQL services (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra), Container Orchestration services (Docker and Kubernetes), in-memory data store (Redis, Valkey), and a variety of Azure tools and services. SHARES best practices and IMPROVES processes within and across teams. INFLUENCES product definition and LEVERAGES technical skills to determine solution. ADHERES to the Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles. MEETS attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with management and co-workers. MEETS the requirements specified below.

Annual Salary
$60,000.00 - $215,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
