Job Description:

The Senior Development Manager operates independently leading a technical team focused on designing and developing features for applications used by store associates across 2,000+ retail locations. This role oversees team performance, manages project deliverables, and collaborates closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional IT groups. Additionally, the Senior Development Manager is responsible for establishing and refining processes that ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions, while maintaining exceptional service standards for both store associates and key stakeholders.

This position sits onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and monitor project objectives, resource leveling, timelines, milestones & deadlines ensuring all project deliverables are met according to schedule and accepted by customers to ensure smooth project transition and operational status.  
  • Work with business partners to clarify, scope and prioritize their requests for enhancements and modifications.
  • Ensure that all projects meet GameStop security requirements and testing.
  • Manage the software development lifecycle and technical risks throughout all projects inclusive of ongoing operational costs.
  • Ensure/facilitate communication with other cross functional teams.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
  • Stay at the leading edge of evolving industry standards and practices

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Strong project planning skills with the ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and manage responsibilities to meet tight deadlines in fast-paced, multi-priority environments.
  • Proven capacity to stay composed and productive in high-stress environments, responding in ways aligned with team and organizational expectations.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease.
  • Ability to understand and apply basic software implementation methodology concepts.
  • Possess desire for continued development and growth.
  • Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members.
  • Ability to effectively coach, develop, retain, train, hire, and discipline others to produce and maintain a successful team.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development principles and practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of Retail Systems and processes preferred.
  • Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Information Systems, Computer Science or other related field or equivalent year-for-year experience required.
  • Requires 3+ years of direct experience managing Agile teams, demonstrating consistent excellence in team performance and project outcomes.
  • Proven leadership experience with cross-functional teams, comprising developers and project managers, is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience leading teams developing and delivering applications using contemporary front-end and back-end technologies, such as cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Kubernetes, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Solid hands-on experience with Python programming in practical development environments preferred.

Full-time store positions at GameStop are also eligible to participate in incentive programs, health benefits, paid time off, 401 (k), employee discount and a casual work environment. Positions at GameStop may also be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentives.
