Sourcing Senior Specialist

Gadge USA was established in 1993. Our company is a national packaging supply and supply-chain solutions company with an expansive distribution network. We manage packaging portfolios across multiple categories, combined with a scalable service model, which delivers packaging solutions and continuous improvement to our customers.  

We are currently recruiting a Sourcing Senior Specialist, reporting to our Senior Manager, Sourcing. In this role, you will plan and execute project strategies that will deliver target cost, quality and service with excellence for our Company and Customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering results flawlessly, and work particularly with our Sales team to develop new packaging offerings and solutions for our customers, promoting the growth of product categories in our core competencies as well as new product types with creativity.  This role must be competent in our Salesforce (or similar) project management tool and comply with requirements accordingly, as well as with all other tools and databases. 
 
What You Will Do:  

  • Oversee and manage projects for existing, new and prospective customers for on-time delivery resulting in increased sales and/or compliance to new specifications.
  • Work cross-functionally with departments including but not limited to Sales, Projects, Logistics, Creative and Technical, P&P, and Accounts teams to drive favorable outcomes and deliverables. 
  • Evaluate and recommend project and product specifications, designs, pricing elements to build profitable customer solutions for medium-complexity projects. 
  • Make recommendations for sourcing strategies domestically and internationally to drive cost-down value-engineering alternatives and maximize our abilities to deliver high quality products at improved margins.
  • Proactively identify and communicate opportunities, risks, challenges and recommended solutions within immediate team and stakeholders on a very timely basis. 
  • Manage price changes as may be required as governed by packaging price change procedure, volume commitments, vendor selection decisions, and our contractual obligations. 
  • Research vendor capabilities and requirements as necessary to complete projects assigned; conduct negotiations, and upon approval, onboard vendors or suppliers with favorable terms. 
  • Maintain accurate project statuses leveraging company’s project management tool in Salesforce and clearly document all customer requirements and specifications throughout the project lifecycle. 
  •  Participate in the achievement of department KPI(s), meeting guidelines and deliverables.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and training programs and contribute to improvement in these areas.  Support training of new department members. 

Must-Haves:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting / Finance, or Supply Chain preferred, and 5+ years of relevant work experience. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to gather, populate, and interpret data to drive informed decision-making. 
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities, with a keen attention to detail, and the ability to drive towards meeting deadlines. 
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, can collaborate internally and externally and with cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong analytical aptitude for evaluation of products and services. 
  • Advanced technical skills (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to apply Excel formulas to conduct price analysis. 
  • Experience using ERP (Sage100) and CRM (Salesforce) or equivalent systems. 


Nice-to-Haves:  

  • Packaging development, inventory, and production experience strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with purchase orders, bill-of-lading, and other transaction documents. Experience working with cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience within a customer service environment. 
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software. 
  • Knowledge of product development methodologies.

This role will be based in our office located at 3000 Marcus Avenue, Suite 3E03, Lake Success, NY 11042. 

The salary range for this role is up to $70,000 - $$80,000 commensurate with the candidate's experience.
