Marketing Designer

Job Description:

PURPOSE

The Marketing Designer will be responsible for creating and executing clean, creative, engaging solutions in the areas of print, web/digital, and email while adhering to company policies, consistency in messaging, and coordination of efforts in alignment with the Fortis brand. This requires working in a collaborative team setting to take projects from ideas and concepts to finalized, strategic collateral.

A successful Marketing Designer possesses a desire to work collaboratively across internal departments, with external parties, and with clients to develop concepts and implement design strategies for quality solutions that support and contribute to Team goals. This person is adept at working simultaneously on multiple projects to create engaging materials, website/online content, and other media, including infographics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create graphics, including but not limited to proposal and interview content, marketing campaigns, email communications, and website and employee experience content.
  • Creating and editing pursuit and communications content with the use of Adobe Creative Suite or other necessary platforms.
  • Create technical illustrations that support winning new work and enhancing the employee experience.
  • Support proposal production and layout with Marketing Team members.
  • Ensure consistent branding and cross compatibility of Fortis’ files and assets.
  • Ensure final materials are accurate and error-free, including file construction, organization, and prepping of files for final production.
  • Manage individual project production schedules for on-time delivery.
  • Ensure graphical solutions are compatible and effective across various media.
  • Research and keep current with new trends in digital and print design.
  • Requiring regular collaboration with the Marketing Team and other departments to meet company objectives, 4-5 days per week in office is necessary.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned, relevant to the achievement of the position’s and Teams’ objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, digital design, visual communications, art direction, or comparable professional experience.
  • 2+ years of graphic design experience.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud: proficient with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Strong graphic, layout, and typographic skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work and prioritize independently, maintain an exceptional level of organization, and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to ideate and stylize complex and abstract ideas into representative illustrations and graphics.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Fortis policy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Portfolio of work reflecting collaborative, team-focus deliverables.
  • Proven expertise in working within brand guidelines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is performed in a professional office environment. Role is stationary, often standing or sitting for long periods of time, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Communication with internal and external contacts, including speaking and hearing is required. May occasionally push, pull or lift up to 25 lbs.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • All Fortis positions require some level of driving.
