Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include leading and supervising resident assistants, managing student conduct processes, developing community programming, and overseeing hall operations.
Skills: Candidates should possess strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as knowledge of conflict resolution and community development.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience in residential life operations are required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Residential Life, the Resident Director serves as director of a residence hall or housing area and works closely with the specialized housing operations, conduct, and mental health/substance abuse prevention-focused professional staff. They are a critical part of a mission-driven Office of Residential Life at the Jesuit University of New York’s main undergraduate campus in the Bronx. This position requires evening and weekend hours.
Additionally, the Resident Director furthers the mission of the office to create a diverse community of rights, respect, and responsibility in resident communities in which students learn where they live in conventional/traditional residence halls, as well as seven Integrated Learning Communities.
