THE ROLE:
FloSports is looking for a Senior Producer to join our Live Events Production team with primary focus on the vertical of Cheerleading. A FloSports Sr. Producer is on the front lines creating our most valuable product and the ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, technical live broadcast professional with a passion for providing high-quality live event coverage and deep knowledge of the Cheerleading vertical (which can also include dance competitions).
The Sr. Producer will assist in show budgeting decisions; develop rundowns for enhanced cheer productions; oversee show planning; prepare effective and efficient graphics; and arm the crew and commentary team with the storylines and coverage plan ensuring our broadcast is up to the highest standards. You’ll think quickly on your feet and adapt to the story unfolding in each broadcast. You are the eyes and ears of our customer…sport and production expertise is essential. This position would experience seasonal travel and work evenings/weekends/holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with Coordinating Producer to lead the Cheer vertical ensuring consistency in broadcasts, graphics usage, ad insertion targets, and polished productions.
Work closely with internal departments and external partners to coordinate broadcast needs.
Set expectations and help manage production team personnel, including event directors, producers, on-air talent, editors, graphics designers and operators, scoring systems personnel.
Identify and share best practices. Create and maintain rundowns and tech books.
Take ownership of production quality and help to drive improvements.
Fully invested in every stage of the production process, from pre-production, the live broadcast, post-event review and event recaps.
Manage production planning details through a task tracker, schedules, establish timelines and create event documentation, including tech books.
Troubleshoot technology issues and production problems logically, calmly and efficiently. Escalate issues to appropriate parties as needed.
Review weekly events for contractor and internal staff production quality and provide constructive criticism necessary to maintain high production standards.
Build and maintain relationships with partners, vendors, crew, and other event stakeholders.
Provide talent instruction and feedback when needed to improve future broadcasts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Familiarity with on-site, remote, and cloud based production models.
Knowledge and experience with key brand partners.
Proven experience producing events in a live streaming or broadcast environment.
Experience with storytelling, editing, shooting, lighting, and audio.
Critical thinking and troubleshooting experience.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Comfortable with building production budgets and seeking efficiencies where possible.
Knowledge of what makes for an effective, concise production graphic.
Ability to lead, execute and deliver in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Familiarity with software based production tools, such as OBS and vMix, as well as Blackmagic ATEM.
Ready to step into multiple roles depending on the show execution
Familiarity with Prosumer level cameras (i.e. Panasonic CX350 and CX10, Marshall POV cameras, Panasonic PTZ, etc.) and fiber optic cabling and connectivity.
Ability to manage simultaneous tasks and communicate progress with multiple parties.
Self-managing skills to dig into projects, search out necessary information, set timelines and be able to stick to them.
Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with show talent prior to and throughout the execution of the broadcast to further storylines and keep the event relevant.
Familiarity with broadcast graphics systems is a strong plus (Singular Live, Ross Xpression, Chyron, GT Title).
Experience with Google and/or Excel spreadsheets and data integration with graphics systems a plus.
Ability to meet high travel requirements, including weekends and holidays.
