- Extensive hands-on animal handling and in-life study execution
- Proficiency with multiple administration routes (PO, IP, IV, SC)
- Experience with necropsy, blood (submandibular, cardiac) and tissue collection/processing
- Ability to design and run in vitro and ex vivo assays (cell culture, ELISA, flow cytometry)
- Data analysis and visualization using Excel and GraphPad Prism
- Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) documentation skills
- Strong oral and written communication to present summarized results
- Familiarity with IACUC regulations and animal welfare best practices
Responsibilities
- Independently execute and support in-life screening, characterization, and mechanism-of-action studies for small molecules, biologics and nucleic acids
- Draft and implement in vivo study designs to meet multifunctional program needs
- Perform dosing via multiple routes (PO, IP, IV, SC) and generate robust in vivo data using models of autoimmunity, metabolism and oncology
- Conduct necropsy, blood and tissue collection/processing and ensure accurate sample handling
- Develop and run ex vivo/pharmacodynamic assays (e.g., ELISA, cell-based readouts) in collaboration with translational teams
- Monitor animal health, maintain compliance with IACUC and animal welfare standards
- Record detailed experimental results in ELN and summarize data for internal stakeholders
- Collaborate across in vivo, in vitro biology and translational groups; support vivarium and lab operations including occasional weekend work
Education
- BSc in Biology or related discipline (required); advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of hands-on animal handling experience in a research setting
