Computational Geometry Engineer (Bay Area Preferred)
Skills
- Mechanical engineering background with emphasis on computational geometry
- Strong C/C++ programming and system-level development experience
- Experience with computer graphics, simulations, or geometry-heavy systems
- Familiarity with CAD model analysis and 3D/2D geometry processing
- Algorithm development and data-driven decision-making
- Knowledge of CNC and/or additive manufacturing workflows (preferred)
- Experience applying algorithms to real-world manufacturing constraints
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering projects from requirements through delivery, balancing scope, quality, and schedule
- Expand automated manufacturing intelligence to support complex manufacturing processes
- Develop geometry-driven algorithms to analyze 3D models and 2D drawings
- Extract salient geometric features to drive automation and manufacturability decisions
- Build heuristics to estimate pricing and machinability across multiple processes
- Analyze production datasets to generate scalable DFM insights and 3D visualizations
- Collaborate in small, cross-functional teams and ship iterations frequently
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required (Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related)
- M.S. or PhD strongly preferred (Computational Geometry, Computer Graphics, or related)
- Internship, academic research, or professional project experience in relevant domains
