Description

The Project Coordinator will primarily support an ongoing cluster-randomized controlled trial of a father-inclusive parenting program in Tanzania. This position involves managing complex timelines, coordinating research and  dissemination activities, and collaborating closely with international partners. The role also spans across the PI’s  broader research portfolio, with additional responsibilities in project coordination, data management, and team supervision.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages a project.
  • Coordinates the strategic planning process and monitors progress toward achieving project goals.
  • Assists in developing, administering and monitoring project related budgets.
  • Coordinates logistical arrangements for related conferences, conventions or meetings.
  • May assist in identifying funding resources and in developing funding strategies and initiatives.
  • Develops and generates various operational and statistical reports.
  • Represents and promotes the project at various speaking engagements.
  • May write grants, reports, briefings, newsletters, promotional or other written material related to the project.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Develop, implement, and monitor work plans and timelines for the Tanzania project and broader research portfolio. Coordinate team meetings and conference calls with  international collaborators, including drafting agendas, recording minutes, and tracking action items. 
  • Organize logistical arrangements for virtual and in-person meetings, lab events, and dissemination activities. 
  • Maintain and organize digital project files and shared drives (e.g., Dropbox, SharePoint). Coordinate travel arrangements for study team members and collaborators.
  • Order research supplies, including study materials and equipment needed for field implementation and data collection.
  • Maintain bibliographic databases and manage references using software such as EndNote or Zotero, including formatting citations and supporting manuscript preparation. 
  • Assist with organizing and managing qualitative and quantitative data collection tools.
  • Program and manage  survey tools using platforms such as KoboToolbox.
  • Contribute to data cleaning, coding, and analysis using software such as STATA or R and NVivo, Atlas.ti, or Dedoose.
  • Format and visually enhance intervention curricula, study documents, and project materials with attention to consistency, layout, and readability.
  • Design graphics and visual content for presentations, briefs, websites, and other dissemination products.
  • Manage project websites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related project management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Global Health, or a related field.
  • Strong project management skills with experience coordinating multiple tasks, workstreams, and competing deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including responsiveness to emails and proactively providing updates.
  • Familiarity with research ethics, IRB protocols, and collaborative work with international partners.
  • Skills in graphic design, visual presentation of data, and document formatting are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in STATA or R, and qualitative analysis software (NVivo, Dedoose, or Atlas.ti).
  • Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or InDesign) is highly desirable.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
