The Studio Research team at the Walt Disney Studios oversees global audience insights that impact the creative and strategic decisions of our marketing and production teams.
We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Studio Research team. This position will work closely with a Director on the Studio Research team, handling the day-to-day management of quantitative and qualitative research projects conducted for all content created by The Walt Disney Studio, including movies released in theaters and movie/series released on Disney+ and Hulu. Several of these research studies will be global and this role will have varying degrees of supervision, autonomy, and responsibility. Key strengths for this position come from experience with strong written analysis and communication skills.
Please note that this role may occasionally require early mornings, late nights, and weekend work during busy seasons.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and make key contributions to research projects from inception to completion, including the development of appropriate methodologies, data analysis and report delivery. Specifically, assist on research projects for both theatrical and streaming content campaigns, both domestic and international. This includes, but is not limited to, creative testing, screenings, and exit surveys.
Attend focus groups and screenings, both domestically and internationally, helping pull data and synthesize the findings.
Help with the management and contribute to the analysis of syndicated title tracking for theatrical and streaming releases, both domestically and internationally.
Ability to articulate research insights to other divisions verbally and in written correspondence.
Working with vendors to ensure that the detailed findings and recommendations of every report are on target and provide strategic guidance to The Walt Disney Studios.
Assist on numerous ad-hoc, custom quantitative and qualitative research projects on an as needed basis.
Help maintain the research department’s repository, posting and updating data as necessary.
Build and maintain relationships with research counterparts from other divisions of The Walt Disney Company as well as external vendors.
Respond to time sensitive data requests from internal clients.
Stay abreast of current trends and new techniques in the field of market research.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years quantitative and qualitative market research experience.
Must have extensive research background, either supplier-side, client-side, or some combination.
Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Solid project management skills and experience, including questionnaire design, data analysis and report writing, as well as presenting of findings.
Must have exceptional multitasking capabilities and the ability to work effectively in an environment of tight deadlines and constant change.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexible personality, team player, and a pro-active work ethic.
Ability to think out-of-the-box in assisting with the development of methodological approaches.
Computer literate with proficiencies in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Theatrical, streaming, or other forms of tracking experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Entertainment Market Research experience strongly preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Communications Studies, Sociology, Business, Marketing, or related field.
