The Security Engineering team at Decagon protects the platform that powers the most advanced conversational AI agents for enterprise customers across voice, chat, email and SMS. We build the security foundations that enable Decagon's AI agents to handle sensitive customer data with complete trust while defending against sophisticated, AI-enabled threats at massive scale.

Join Decagon as a Software Engineer, Security where you'll apply strong engineering skills to solve complex security challenges. You'll build some security tools from the ground up while improving our existing systems, with an immediate focus on creating automated tools that remediate security findings from static analysis scans.
This role is for strong engineers who want to apply their skills to security problems, working directly with our Director of Security to shape how we protect our conversational AI platform and internal tooling. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on scalable security solutions and execution.
Build automated security tools that remediate vulnerabilities without minimal intervention
Design and build security tooling, about 50% greenfield development, 50% improving existing systems
Design and collaborate with product teams to implement and review authentication systems, secrets management, and security automation
Create detection pipelines that scale with millions of daily AI agent interactions
Build security libraries and SDKs that make secure development the path of least resistance for engineering teams
Create automated security testing and remediation pipelines integrated into CI/CD workflows
Ship security improvements quickly and iteratively, measuring impact through real-world deployment
Have 3+ years of software engineering experience building production systems
Strong CS fundamentals with genuine interest in security problems such as authentication, authorization, and cryptography, with the ability to implement them in code
Track record of shipping code quickly and iterating based on feedback
Bias towards action — you prototype fast and ship daily
Software engineering skills in Python, Go, Scala, Terraform, or other languages – you write clean, efficient, maintainable code
Natural curiosity about new technologies and approaches to security problem
Experience building developer tools or automation
Background with static analysis tools (Semgrep, CodeQL)
Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern development practices (data pipelines,, infrastructure as code)
Comfortable working across the entire stack to solve problems
