Cyber Security Engineer
Skills
- Deep knowledge of FedRAMP and Impact Level assessments
- Strong experience with NIST special publications and RMF control families
- Familiarity with commercial cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud migration patterns
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container security
- Understanding of zero trust concepts (e.g., BeyondCorp)
- Advanced technical writing and communication skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities in client-facing contexts
- Ability to work in Agile and DevSecOps environments; exposure to AI/ML and data engineering workflows
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and critique Assessment & Authorization (A&A) documentation in line with DoD, ICD, CNSS, and NIST guidance
- Perform system security and vulnerability assessments for cloud and on-prem environments
- Identify security requirements (IaaS vs PaaS, bring-your-own-ATO, control inheritance) and recommend architecture for cloud migrations
- Support development and implementation of methods to achieve compliance with government and commercial cybersecurity frameworks
- Research and implement best practices to harden containers and Kubernetes clusters at scale
- Ensure platforms and networks comply with DoD cybersecurity policies
- Collaborate in Agile/DevSecOps teams to execute cloud-to-cloud and hardware-to-cloud migrations
- Prepare executive-level writing and briefings for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical field
- Or 3 years of equivalent industry experience in lieu of a degree

- Estimated salary range: $150,000 - $170,000 per year
