The Associate Scientist is responsible for coordinating the cell sciences lab operations to lead the production of cell-related intermediates including hybridoma-derived purified monoclonal antibodies and cell culture products for QC samples. This position will also contribute to the technical troubleshooting and operational capability across the entire Manufacturing Services team to root cause issues and drive actions impacting KPIs.

This position reports to the Manufacturing Services Manager and is part of the Manufacturing Services team located in Eugene, Oregon and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage operations for the manufacturing cell culture lab in compliance with safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity targets
• Contribute to the operational capability of the Manufacturing Services team, serving as a technical expert and flex resource across multiple value streams as needed for the team’s success
• Work collaboratively within the Manufacturing Services team to schedule and plan the week’s work
• Manage cell culture lab equipment maintenance and repair
• Troubleshoot and root cause cell-related process failures and QC-fails

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of industry experience, or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Ability to manage/determine priorities and communicate effectively within the team and with outside functional teams. 
• Displays a positive attitude in the face of difficult or challenging situations. Provides an uplifting (yet realistic) outlook on what the future holds and the opportunities it might present. 

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 30lbs

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Oracle Fusion or other ERP systems
• Managing large data sets in Microsoft Excel

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
