Bon Appétit/Epicurious’s Site Director is the central engine of the Content Team. They will serve as one of the chief senior editors on the staff across all platforms (digital, print, etc.), top editing much content in addition to lead editing several projects themselves. They will partner with editorial leadership and the operations team to ensure that our robust, digital-first editorial calendar stays on track with its intended publication dates, troubleshooting problems as they arise and making adjustments as necessary. In this capacity, they will mentor more junior members of the Content Team staff, helping them to level up their editing and writing skills with a focus on moving our storytelling efficiently while not compromising our high editorial standards. They will directly manage the day-to-day of the social media staff (including two social media managers and a social video producer), ensuring that their output is aligned with the overall content strategy and that it stays on schedule, again troubleshooting problems as they arise. They will also manage our lead editor in charge of catalog updates, partnering with them to build out a staff-and-freelancer-driven system for publishing regular content updates to further amplify the value proposition of our brand to prospective subscribers. The ideal candidate is an exceptional people manager, solutions-oriented, and a paragon of efficiency and simply keeping things running on time. A passion for food and drink is ideal.
