In this capacity, they will mentor more junior members of the Content Team staff, helping them to level up their editing and writing skills with a focus on moving our storytelling efficiently while not compromising our high editorial standards. They will also manage our lead editor in charge of catalog updates, partnering with them to build out a staff-and-freelancer-driven system for publishing regular content updates to further amplify the value proposition of our brand to prospective subscribers. The ideal candidate is an exceptional people manager, solutions-oriented, and a paragon of efficiency and simply keeping things running on time. A passion for food and drink is ideal.

  • Mentor more junior members of the Content Team staff, helping them to level up their editing and writing skills with a focus on moving our storytelling efficiently while not compromising our high editorial standards.

  • Manage our lead editor in charge of catalog updates, partnering with them to build out a staff-and-freelancer-driven system for publishing regular content updates to further amplify the value proposition of our brand to prospective subscribers.

  • Write as assigned, including quick- and long-turn stories, newsletters, and more.

  • Serve as an ideas machine, bringing in and directly contributing several pitches per week; and using data and insights from our audience development and strategy team to identify promising areas of coverage that will meet brand KPIs.

  • A crystal clear understanding of how to execute on a KPI-, subscriptions-driven editorial strategy.

  • Familiarity and comfort using analytics tools such as Parse.ly, Google Analytics, and Looker.

  • Expert-level editorial judgment, writing, and editing skills, with a keen sense for how to develop and maintain a brand voice that will differentiate BA/Epi from our competition.

  • Deep proficiency with digital CMSs and editorial calendar management systems (e.g., Airtable, Asana, etc.). Experience with Adobe InCopy/K4 and newsletter-production platforms is a plus.
