About Cluely

Cluely is looking for strong AI engineers to help us build the first true desktop copilot: an always-on, real time, invisible AI assistant that can proactively offer help and complete work.

Our company mission is AI maximalism: everywhere AI can be used, it should be used. Some will view it as cheating, but you will be contributing to a world where humans never have to think alone again.

Users are using us for assistance on sales calls, for help coaching clients, and advice when navigating complicated enterprise software environments. Since launching at the end of April, we have:

• Achieved strong product-market fit in both consumer and enterprise settings: we crossed >1m in ARR among consumers in less than three weeks, over 250,000 users, and 3m+ in enterprise deals.

• Assembled one of the strongest growth and marketing distribution channels in recent memory: we are able to consistently get hundreds of millions of views through Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.

• Raised a $15M series A from a16z, who are investors in Cursor and Wiz - previously two of the fastest companies to hit 100m in ARR.

About the Role

Our vision is to create the ultimate desktop assistant that goes beyond chat, proactively predicting intent and surfacing information before you need it. We aim to make Cluely the default way people reach for AI help. This will involve difficult technical challenges. Some examples of problems we are working on right now at Cluely include:

• Sub 100ms response times

• Multimodal context compression/stitching

• Delivering contextually accurate, proactive responses

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production-ready AI/LLM systems from scratch

• Develop and maintain robust evaluation frameworks and agent tooling

• Engineer and optimize prompt workflows for accuracy, speed, and reliability

You might be a good fit if you have:

• Experience with building and deploying AI/LLM systems in production

• Deep familiarity with eval framework, agent tooling, and prompt engineering

• Strong track record of translating complex real-world needs into robust AI solutions

• At minimum a basic understanding of Typescript

Strong candidates may also have:

• Prior work on AI, multimodal, or real-time products

• Deep experience in audio, visual, or multichannel engineering

Compensation:

• Founding AI engineers get paid a minimum base salary of $250,000. The pay range goes up to $500,000 a year base if you are truly exceptional. This is in addition to generous equity.
