Software Engineer, Bots + Fraud Detection (US East Coast)
Skills
- Proficiency designing and optimizing distributed data processing pipelines.
- Strong coding skills in Go, Python, Java, or comparable high-performance languages.
- Experience building and operating monitoring/alerting for data systems.
- Deep systems-level debugging and performance analysis abilities.
- Familiarity or interest in Web Security, HTTP protocols, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of machine learning, statistical inference, or advanced analytics.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale high-performance distributed software for bot and fraud detection products.
- Implement and optimize distributed data processing pipelines handling global HTTP traffic at very high throughput.
- Collaborate with data science and product teams to productionize ML/statistical models for real-time detection.
- Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability for data pipelines and detection systems.
- Perform systems-level debugging, performance tuning, and incident response for production services.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate detection logic into Cloudflare’s global network and services.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Graduate degree is a plus but not required; equivalent professional experience accepted.
