The Opportunity:
As an experienced machine learning engineer, you understand good software is more than just a good user experience. To compete in today’s technical landscape, mission-oriented machine learning solutions must be architected, designed, and built to handle fast-moving data, seamlessly scale with infrastructure based on system usage, and expand based on evolving mission requirements. We’re looking for an engineer like you to create artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) enabled solutions that help solve our toughest challenges facing the health sector.
On our team, you’ll design, create, and implement complete AI systems that will transform client operations, increase data accessibility, and optimize AI and ML systems. You’ll ensure that your team’s solutions consider the broader ecosystem and operating environment as well as future functionality and enhancements. Additionally, you’ll deepen your skill set in areas like software engineering, machine learning and AI operations (MLOps and AIOps), and software deployment and integration into a health mission environment.
Join us. The world can’t wait.
You Have:
5+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying AI or ML applications
1+ years of experience with multi-agent systems, orchestration frameworks, or agentic AI architecture
Experience integrating LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, LLaMA, or Mistral into production systems using APIs, fine-tuning, and embeddings
Experience implementing agent communication protocols such as MCP, A2A, or tool integrations and designing stateful workflows with runtime adaptability
Experience working in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, using Git for versioning and collaboration, and with MLOps practices, including containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD for AI workloads
Experience incorporating external tools and APIs, including database, search, vector stores, or cloud services, into agent workflows for real-world problem solving
Experience evaluating architectural tradeoffs and designing robust service-based software applications for scalable use
Ability to architect with Python and modern AI development stacks, including LangChain, LangGraph, or Haystack
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Data Science field
Nice If You Have:
Experience with Agile methodologies and best practices
Experience in federal or highly regulated environments with compliance standards such as FedRAMP or HIPAA
Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and ethical AI practices
Ability to implement controls for bias, lineage, and auditability
Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to optimize prompt engineering, tool selection, and orchestration strategies for cost and latency
Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams of data scientists, engineers, product owners, and domain experts
Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
Possession of excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Master’s degree
