Infrastructure Tooling Software Engineer
Skills
- Proficiency or strong interest in Rust (experience with Go or Python is also valuable)
- Experience debugging complex systems and ensuring correctness under failure modes
- Familiarity with distributed systems and operating at global scale
- Designing and building APIs, CLIs, and internal web tools
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and incident response
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Zinc components (Rust-based) that manage global servers and network devices
- Build and evolve APIs, CLIs, and web interfaces consumed by infrastructure teams
- Optimize for performance, availability, and minimal shared dependencies
- Debug complex production incidents and participate in on-call rotations
- Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure and resiliency teams to define tooling requirements
- Write tests, documentation, and runbooks to ensure operational readiness and maintainability
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
