Overview

Children’s Mercy is seeking a passionate and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our school-based behavioral health consultation team. This unique role is ideal for a BCBA who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to empowering youth through structured, evidence-based programming that bridges clinical care and educational systems. The position is evenly split between leading group-based behavioral parent/caregiver training focused on interventions for children and adolescents with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and providing school-based behavioral consultation and support.

 

As a key member of the behavioral health team, the BCBA will design and facilitate ADHD-focused parent/caregiver training sessions while also working directly with school personnel, students, and families to support behavioral and academic success. The BCBA will collaborate across outpatient, inpatient, and school settings to ensure continuity of care, and will play a vital role in integrating behavioral health strategies into educational environments through consultation, training, and individualized support planning.

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct classroom observations and collaborate with educators to assess behavioral patterns and classroom dynamics.
  • Provide individualized coaching and professional development to teachers and support staff.
  • Design and implement evidence-based interventions that promote positive student behavior and inclusive learning environments.
  • Develop and lead staff training initiatives to support consistent implementation of behavior analytic strategies.
  • Lead structured group sessions for parents/caregivers who have children/adolescents with ADHD, focusing on general behavior management, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and social skills.
  • Provide training and coaching to staff and families on ADHD-specific strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Support program development and evaluation to enhance group effectiveness and participant outcomes.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and generalization of skills across settings.
  • Develop and implement behavior support plans tailored to group dynamics and individual needs.
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and use data-driven decision-making to monitor progress and adjust interventions.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews, parent education workshops, and staff development initiatives.
  • Contribute to the mission of Children’s Mercy through clinical excellence, collaboration, and innovation in behavioral health services.
  • Provides quality clinical care to patients in inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
  • Provides education to psychologists, students, trainees, nursing and allied health professionals.
  • Participates in scholarly activities that contribute to mental health knowledge.
  • Participates in administrative activities and promotes fiscal responsibility

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or a closely related field as determined by the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board and
    • 1-2 years experience
    • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience serving individuals with developmental disabilities (e.g., autism)
      • including at least one (1) year experience completing comprehensive functional assessments and behavior support plans
    • Experience facilitating group-based interventions and facilitating behaviroral pare/caregiver training and education preferred
  • Behavior Analyst license via State of KS Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board Required Upon Hire
  • Behavior Analyst license via MO Department of Commerce and Insurance Division of Professional Registration Behavior Analyst Advisory Board Required Upon Hire

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $31.15/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
