Job Description

Ensures financial applications and implementations are supported and optimized. Builds partnerships with departmental staff and external departments, anticipates business and technology needs, and takes a lead role in developing support strategies that align with departmental goals. Builds a strong team that meets or exceeds department goals to ensure delivery of accurate and timely financial information.

Experience

  • 8 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA in Computer Science, Accounting, or Business
  • Experience with Crystal Reports or similar reporting software
  • Experience in enterprise resource planning (Lawson/Infor)

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Business, or equivalent work experience

  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of the business content of systems
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise financial applications
  • Must be able to manage a team and keep resources motivated and productive
  • Must possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, impeccable reliability, and intuitive understanding of mathematical/statistical relationships and trends
  • Must have proven organizational and project management skills and the ability to balance multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day management of staff, including establishing appropriate staffing levels and resource utilization and promoting staff development plans with an emphasis on consistent, superior service for the Financial Systems Support team to ensure Corporate Finance support needs are met or exceeded while ensuring department policies and procedures are enforced.
  • Leads the Financial Systems Support team in identification and resolution of problems involving financial software applications, information access, computers, and training.
  • Works with Corporate Finance and other department leaders to identify and resolve potential and realized system process and data issues and ensures department goals and objectives are met.
  • Provides direction and hands-on assistance to Corporate Finance leadership and the Financial Systems Support team on the integration and effective utilization of existing Corporate Finance software products, while monitoring Corporate Finance for new technology needs.
  • Investigates and reviews new or alternative systems, modules, third-party add-ons or other technologies relative to financial systems and makes recommendations to leadership and other department managers about tools that improve the overall quality of services provided by Corporate Finance and leads the Financial Systems Support team in the implementation of such tools.
  • Participates in the yearly capital and operational budgeting processes in conjunction with the department director and ensures vendor agreements and deliverables are being met.
  • Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including: interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  • Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
  • Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
