Summary:

Chesapeake Bank is looking for an individual to join our growing commercial loan team as a Commercial Loan Coordinator. The individual in this role will support several lenders, assisting them with Credit Memo preparation. This position will perform various duties to support the overall needs of our commercial loan team, including creating loan approval packages, collateral valuation, review insurance requirements, and regulatory compliance tasks. The individual in this role will also be responsible for some general clerical duties such as data entry, answering phone calls, and filing/sorting of documents.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains information from Commercial Loan Administrators and Loan Officers for new and/or renewing loan requests.
  • Assists in preliminary screening of said requests based on financial institution policies and loan product specifications.
  • Assists in the preparation of Credit Memos for loan approval and presentation.
  • Maintains credit file for closing, system on-boarding, and post-close quality control
  • Orders, monitors, and reviews appraisals/evaluations, flood determinations, environmental assessments and phase 1 reports
  • Works with attorneys, title companies and insurance companies in partnership with the Bank’s Commercial Loan Administrator to facilitate loan closings.
  • Works closely with the Commercial Loan Administrator and other Credit Department teams and assists where needed.
  • Understand your role as defined by the three lines of defense to maintain a compliance culture that includes risk management processes
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Previous banking experience is preferred
  • College degree or equivalent qualifying job experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be able to efficiently balance various duties and work independently
  • Ability to understand complex operational processes and workflows
  • Ability to work quickly and an accurately, analyze information, and make decisions
  • Willingness to assume additional responsibilities, duties, and projects as they arise
