- Proven experience designing and operating PB-scale data solutions across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Strong software engineering and architecture skills with practical delivery experience.
- Experience building high-throughput data ingestion pipelines for imaging, sequencing, and instrumentation data.
- Familiarity with preparing datasets for AI/ML training and supporting evolving data types.
- Demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, and scale engineering teams and culture.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Lead an engineering team focused on data services, pipelines, and a data platform for imaging, mass spectrometry, and sequencing data.
- Define technical direction, architecture, and best practices for PB-scale hybrid (on-prem/cloud) data solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, AI engineers, product managers, and scientists to shape requirements and roadmap.
- Drive Agile development practices to deliver iterative value and maintain high quality and reliability.
- Hire, mentor, and develop engineers; build a diverse, high-performing team.
- Oversee operational readiness, monitoring, and lifecycle management of data used for AI training.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant field preferred but not required.
