Why Central?

We’re on a mission to kill business bullshit so startups can fly.

Building a company is still way too hard. Founders still have to register in multiple states to run payroll, set up workers' compensation, pay various payroll-related taxes, deal with intimidating government mail, update addresses across state filings, and troubleshoot with insurance companies.

Imagine a world where ambitious founders have more time to solve the world's most difficult problems—from preventing medical mistakes in hospitals to building next-generation night vision to curing brain cancer. That's what founders on Central are doing.

Currently, hundreds of companies run on Central, and we're growing rapidly. We've raised a huge seed/A from YC and some of the best investors in the world (not announced yet, happy to share in private).

As a founding member, you'll have a seat at the table and help Central scale to serve thousands of companies.

You’ll be marketer #1 at Central and turn customer love into revenue by telling stories and building growth programs that actually work.

What you'll do

Customer content & advocacy

  • Interview customers to uncover and celebrate their founding stories

  • Generate reviews, testimonials, and case studies that close deals

  • Manage customer reference program and intros for sales

  • Build and optimize our customer referral engine

Growth programs

  • Execute partner co-marketing campaigns that drive pipeline

  • Support product launches with customer proof

  • Test new community channels

Who you are

Must haves:

  • 3+ years at early-stage startups or VC (<50 people, pre-Series B/C)

  • Built something from scratch (community, content series, etc)

  • Natural storyteller & interviewer who gets people to open up

  • Genuinely enjoys talking to customers

  • Strong writer who doesn't sound like ChatGPT

  • Comfortable with no playbook and get shit done fast

Bonus:

  • You've seen what great customer marketing looks like and want to build your own version

  • Ex-founder, investor or first marketing hire at a startup

  • Your content has actually gone viral (show us the receipts)

  • Know your way around audio/video editing

Not looking for:

  • People who need a process and clear guidelines

  • Specialists who only want to do one or two things

  • Anyone who says "that's not my job"

  • Anyone who wants to build out a team to delegate work.
