Integrations & Automation Engineer (AI-Focused)
Skills
- Proven experience delivering cross-functional automation initiatives and production-grade integrations.
- Hands-on familiarity with at least one iPaaS/automation platform (Workato strongly preferred).
- Fluency in API integration patterns (REST/GraphQL), auth (OAuth2), webhooks, pagination, rate limits and error handling.
- Programming experience in Ruby, Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript for custom connectors and orchestration.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills for ETL/ELT and analytics enablement.
- Understanding of LLM integration patterns (prompt design, tool calling, embeddings, RAG, vector DBs).
- Experience with enterprise apps (Salesforce, NetSuite), secrets management, RBAC, and CI/CD.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable workflow automations, integrations, and data pipelines to reduce manual work and improve reliability.
- Design and build AI-powered automation capabilities (triage, summarization, extraction, content generation, decision support) using enterprise-safe LLMs and AI services.
- Own full integration lifecycle: requirements, design, security review, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Integrate systems via APIs, webhooks, message queues and build connectors for SaaS apps and internal systems.
- Establish governance and guardrails for AI and automation including access controls, prompt hygiene, privacy, observability, and cost management.
- Create reusable components, recipes, and playbooks (Workato or similar iPaaS) to accelerate automation delivery.
- Partner with IT, Security, Legal, and business stakeholders to ensure compliance and privacy requirements are met.
- Lead enablement, documentation, trainings, and office hours to drive adoption and upskill teams.
- Define, instrument, and report success metrics (time saved, error reduction, SLA improvements, user satisfaction).
- Troubleshoot, monitor, and continuously optimize integrations for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated technical experience in integrations, automation, RPA, software or systems engineering.
