Senior AWS DevOps Engineer

Overview

Carecentrix is seeking a highly motivated and result-oriented AWS DevOps Engineer to join our team. This role entails overseeing the deployment and upkeep of AWS infrastructure across various development teams. You'll employ CloudFormation and Ansible to streamline the deployment process. Responsibilities also include managing scripts and templates in source control, ensuring version control with git, assisting in implementing security measures for compliance, monitoring servers and infrastructure for any issues, and maintaining Jenkins pipelines. The perfect candidate will have a solid background and a demonstrated history of effectively leading and managing projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable, HIPAA-compliant AWS environments (Control Tower, RDS, EC2, API Gateway etc.).
• Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform/CloudFormation and enforce cloud security best practices.
• Own the ideation, design, development, enhancement, and continuous improvement of CI/CD Pipelines
• Crafting and implementing a DevOps strategy to guarantee high-quality software deployments, as well as maintaining optimal application health and performance
• Evaluate current CI Pipelines and design new solutions leveraging AWS functions.
• Optimize AWS costs, performance, and reliability while implementing disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
• Work closely with development and operations teams to embed security into the Cloud-hosted DevOps CI/CD pipeline, automating and seamlessly integrating security checks and scans.
• Migrate legacy on-prem workloads to AWS and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
• Work on cloud implementations, upgrades, migrations, and change requests within client cloud environments
• Develop CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Packer) for seamless IaC and application deployments.
• Automate provisioning, monitoring (CloudWatch), and alerts using Python/Groovy/Ansible.
• Oversee and/or assist in the creation, upkeep, and application of secure deployment infrastructure to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards
• Create and maintain detailed records of troubleshooting procedures, system configurations, and resolutions to support knowledge sharing and future reference.

Qualifications

You should get in touch if you have:

• 8+ years of DevOps/software engineering experience, **5+ years in AWS**. 
• You have extensive experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS (REQUIRED).
• Operational experience with orchestration tools for CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling (Ansible, Terraform).
• Independent self-starting problem solver with a creative passion for developing DevOps solutions.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (Control Tower, RDS, CloudWatch) and hybrid cloud architecture. 
• Proficiency in cloud security, cost optimization, and Linux/Windows administration. 
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and healthcare IT compliance (HIPAA). 

This is the role for you if you have:

• AWS Certifications: DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect Pro, or CCSP.
• Healthcare IT experience (strongly preferred).
• Familiarity with Java/JavaScript, VMware, or GitOps practices.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates who advance to the final interview stage will be required to attend an in-person interview (travel expenses covered by CareCentrix).

This role is remote for individuals residing in the US only. Some on-site work may be necessary in our Tampa, FL, Madison, WI, St. Louis, MO, Hartord, CT or Chicago, IL locations, so preference will be give to candidates in those areas.
